The Hilton Garden Inn Durham Southpoint is currently in search of  Full-Time Room Attendants. The person/persons selected for this position must have open availablility to work both the am (8am - 5pm). Applicants with prior experience are preferred; however we will train the right person. DUTIES

POSITION PURPOSE To perform a combination of tasks, which maintain hotel premises in a clean and orderly manner, thereby contributing to a pleasant and positive guest experience. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Moves and arranges furniture 2. Turn mattresses as required 3. Hangs draperies as required 4. Dusts 5. Polishes metalwork and furniture 6. Collects soiled linens for laundering and receive and store linen supplies in linen closet. 7. Vacuums floors, cleans bathrooms 8. Refurnish room with supplies, towels, etc, as required 9. Supplies own cleaning cart with appropriate supplies for shift 10. May deliver television sets, ironing boards, baby cribs, and rollaway beds to guestrooms. 11. May clean swimming pool 12. May remove debris, clean driveways and garage areas 13. Follow rooms attendants checklist 14. Be able to help in any area needed. 15. Flexibility in the schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. Ability to lift, reach, bend, stoop, stand and walk continuously, climb stairs, and push or pull heavy equipment. Ability to read and write basic English in order to complete forms such as a room status report and understand simple instructions. Ability to provide clear direction, instruction and guidance to subordinates. Ability to organize and prioritized work, and meet deadlines. Ability to exercise judgment and implement control over the performance of subordinates. Perform routine work or the same task over and over again. Requires walking 90 - 95 % of workday. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and pushing / pulling a cart up to 250 lbs on a daily basis. Working in changing temperatures throughout the hotel. EDUCATION Basic ability to comprehend English language sufficient to understanding information such as safety labels and instructions. Prior hotel experience preferred, but not required
